When Angels Speak of Love (documentary, 2025) follows the eponymous ritual-performance through the presence of director Maria João Guardão in five homes in the Moita/Barreiro and Vila do Conde/Porto areas. Through intimate encounters, performative gestures and shared stories, the film observes how the performance creates spaces for listening, care and collective imagination within domestic life. The documentary offers a sensitive perspective on intimacy as a political and affective territory, where grief, memory and desire intersect in the search for other possible ways of loving and building community.
