Fantasmá is a piece for three performers, marking a turning point in my practice: the transition from solos to group creation. It explores spectrality, puppetry and the fantasmatic, while revisiting the artistic universe I've been developing over the last few years and laying the foundations for new creative horizons.
What happens to words that disappear from a language and fall into disuse?
And what about new words from other languages - what do they bring beyond the simple signifier?
Do they carry the ghosts of a foreign culture in their host language?
And what do these words do to our bodies?
In addition to these linguistic and audiovisual devices, Fantasmá also investigates the theatre apparatus itself as a generator of spectres and ghosts. The presence and absence of the body, the overlapping of voices, the play between the visible and the suggested create an unstable field where perception is constantly shifting.
