'Making the making speak' stems from a desire to bring artists and audiences together around the issues that drive and permeate artistic practices in dance, recognising them as fundamental sources of knowledge production. Through this project, we seek to develop various mechanisms that foster and support thought, speech and listening, exploring the possible relationships between their performative nature – as public expression and sharing – and the deeper, more intimate dimension of the reflections that arise.

The project format adapts to the context of each presentation and may vary between 1 and 4 days of reflection amongst artists and 1 to 3 days of public sharing sessions. These sharing sessions consist of the activation of speaking and listening mechanisms, previously developed by David and Teresa and specifically chosen for each edition. These moments of knowledge circulation and transmission are conceived as performative situations in which the audience plays an active role. Their participation is encouraged through the spatial arrangement of the audience, suggestions for simple actions, or invitations to direct their attention in particular ways, thereby enriching the collective experience. The diversity of the devices presented is highlighted by including different ways of engaging the body, languages that are more factual, metaphorical or speculative, as well as the use of objects and the activation of spatial or scenographic compositions. The aim is thus to create an atmosphere of closeness between artists, and between artists and the audience, and to foster an expanded form of speaking and listening.
